Cloud-base Multi-engine Threat Prevention System


In the year 2013, Doneo with the vision of creating a security solution that reduce the dependence for local security software for internet users, started its project which named CMTPS.

CMTPS (Cloud-base Multi-engine Threat Prevention System) is a cloud-base security solution that is able to use various threat detection mechanisms at the cloud level. The use of multiple engines enables a more efficient threat detection and hence better security results.

Unlike traditional local security solutions -such as antivirus software- CMTPS checks the whole data before receiving by clients in a cloud-base environment with multiple threat detection engines simultaneously. Therefore it prevents every doubtful and infected data to be received from internet by its users.

The idea of creating CMTPS was originated because of the disappointing fact that antiviruses and other security software stuck in their old fashion way of confronting malware and still insist on using old technologies of first generation of security, and beside they are not synchronous with the up-to-date outcomes of cyberspace criteria. Actually being merely old-fashioned is not the accusation that meant to be delivered against antiviruses but a series of other shortcomings made Doneo to revolts against the mainstream and it caused the birth of CMTPS. Antiviruses cause a serious decrease in device’s speed and function as well as their impossibility to be run in small and weaker devices which leads these devices to the total malfunction. These malfunctions are due to applying just one antivirus in the device let alone to have more than one antivirus operating on a device which undoubtedly results to a non-performing device. CMTPS seeks to solve these issues by moving the location of threat detection from the client machine, a highly vulnerable place, to a server where it is able to overcome the incompatibility issue. Thus by using a variety of different antivirus software that complete each other with their own threat lists CMTPS offers a safer internet environment for clients. It lifts the burden of threat detection from the client machine thus offering clients more space and performance that is no longer necessary for local threat detection systems.

Doneo conceived of the CMTPS as a buffer zone between the user and the internet, an equivalent of a hospital’s protective zone where medical staff undergoes the sterilization cleaning process before entering the operation theatre thus preventing health risks from outside the operation theatre to enter it.

Apart from individual users CMTPS is particularly helpful for data centers, ISPs, enterprise and medium sized networks. CMTPS operates for all these along with firewalls and is compatible with already existing network security appliances. The client’s current network security solution can be included in the CMTPS system in order to offer more effective results.

Security In Large-Scale

Beside the services that Doneo provides for end-users this company has two main plans for data centers, ISPs, enterprise and medium sized networks. In the large scale Doneo provides the safety of the CMTPS system through one of these two methods: Interactive or Implementational.

1. The Interactive Method
In this method by setting “Doneo Gateway” server up at the customer’s network, the customer can connect to Doneo core and use CMTPS through Doneo API (Application Program Interface). In this mode the main burden of processing the data and making them secure will be handled by Doneo servers and just the result of scanning process will be delivered to the Doneo Gateway.

2. The Implementational Method
In this method the CMTPS system will be applied inside the customer’s network. With equipping the customer’s network by this security solution and setting the main servers in place, their network is empowered to provide for its own clients an independent secure network without connection to Doneo.

In October 2015, Doneo for the first time brought the safety of the CMTPS system to all individual clients through a simple VPN connection by creating Doneo Castle.
